Are you focused on a particular business or mission or do you tend to dabble? The word dabble means: to do something superficially or without serious intent: to meddle. I have found that many people are dabbling their way through life; especially when it comes to their purpose and mission.
When you don’t know your assignment, you have no choice but to dabble. In 1990 I got serious about knowing what purpose and mission was. It was no longer an option. I had to know so I went to the source, the manufacturer, the God who knows the number of hairs on my head to find out my purpose and mission. I spent 15 days without listening to the radio or watching TV. I spent fifteen days not getting the opinion of others about what I am capable of becoming. I tuned everyone and everything else out. I didn’t eat or entertain myself. I waited on God for my download, my blueprint for success; and I got it.
My life has never been the same and I have never wondered again what my purpose and mission in life is. I am here to inspire and unlock the entrepreneurial spirit in people. I am here to help people live fuller, richer lives while they are here and go to heaven when they are done. I am here to connect people with the purpose maker. I am here to change the world!
When you know why you are here your life takes on a power that makes you unstoppable! Your energy is unlocked. You are passionate about living. There is a flow. Every cell in your body knows that you are doing what you are born to do. You don’t just have a dream, your dream has you!
I want to encourage you to retire from a life of dabbling. Life is too short to play hit or miss. Take the time to reconnect with who you are and what you are about. God is not playing hide and seek with your purpose. He is an investor. He made a huge deposit of gifts, talents, abilities and world changing potential into you and wants a return.
We are about to enter a new year. Many will make their new year’s resolutions which will last approximately 17 days. Then the old programming will kick in and they will be back to doing what they were doing before; but not you! Make knowing your purpose and mission non-negotiable. Get “in your zone”, put the pedal to the metal and make 2011 your best year ever.
